Jo is a fully qualified, traditional acupuncturist working from a quiet and relaxing clinic (including Saturdays) in Worcester. Her special interests include: mental health, menopause, pain, chronic conditions and sleep issues. Integrating coaching skills with acupuncture, Jo offers both one-one acupuncture treatments and also talks to groups about acupuncture.
Jo was a diplomat and career civil servant with the Foreign and Commonwealth Office when she decided to study holistic life coaching in her free time. Coaching colleagues, she quickly realised the positive impact on both her clients and herself of helping and supporting others. It was this realisation that signposted her back to acupuncture. Back because she first came across acupuncture as a teenager. Aged 13 she was told that that she might never walk again and, even if she did, it might not be without pain. Forever grateful to the NHS for getting her back on her feet, her enlightened Mum found a traditional acupuncturist to help with the pain. Within months, Jo was walking pain-free, back at school and playing the sport she loved. Having personally experienced how effective acupuncture can be, Jo’s aim is to help others get their health back into balance so that they too can get on with the life they want to lead.
Jo graduated from The Acupuncture Academy and was awarded a Distinction for their Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, which is a three year degree qualification accredited by the British Acupuncture Accreditation Board. Jo’s training was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and acupuncture theory, with a focus on the Five Element approach. This means that she will consider your main health problem, together with a holistic approach to you as an individual.
Jo is a member of the British Acupuncture Council and adheres to the Council’s Codes of Safe Practice and Professional conduct. British Acupuncture Council members are also registered with the Professional Standards Authority which is a government body set up to regulate health and social care providers, and is accountable to Parliament. Jo’s clinic is licensed by Worcester City Council and she holds full medical malpractice and public/products liability insurance cover.
